When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

This piece remained my favourite work for a long time a few years ago. I've been thinking for a while that I could attempt to redo it for the sake of seeing improvement and got to work on it when I saw this contest. Unfortunately, I forgot all about it and when I picked up the sketch again the contest had already ended, but I decided to finish it anyway.
MapleStory is a game I've spent way too many hours playing and I've always had a goal of getting to level 70, advancing to a crusader and wearing this kickass armor set. Grinding isn't for me though; I'd rather explore places and chat with friends so I've never made it that far, even though it seems to be really easy nowadays. I'm very happy with this piece. Ew, long comment is long. So, uh... practice really helps. Remember that, people. 8D I tend to take critiques badly but I really want to learn to appreciate them more. So go ahead, people. The coloring on the armor looks really cool, but the armor on her legs seems too close in color to the background. Her hair is really pretty.

I really do like this piece despite its flaws though. The colors are gorgeous and though the background is simple, it really helps bring out the character. -- Fan of the twili race? Then check out my club ~the-twili-tribe I'm part of ~nintendo-fc! --- I'm also Tia in DA's ~Cartoon-Obsessions! |

Hands & poses are hard though, but you're definitely improving.
Okay, first things first, this was a pleasent surprise to see in my devWATCH. The dark tunnel/cave effect creates a great atmosphere for the picture and the colour scheme for the character certainly makes it stand out really well. The lineless colouring for the tunnel is a nice touch too.
Critique? Hmm..The left hand/the arm on particular looks just a little too straight. Making the arm bend slightly might solve the problem with this, but this is my personal opinion.
I love how the expression and the face is drawn in this piece and the shine used on the armor is nice too.
Overall, this is a beautiful piece and I hope you agree with me when I say this is effort well placed. Nice going Aselea!~
