Animecon VII was held last weekend. I had such an awesome time that I just have to babble about it; there's nothing else in this journal, feel free to ignore.

I left around midday on Friday with my dad and brother to drive towards Helsinki. We had troubles of almost epic proportions to find the place, but once learning the route we had no problems arriving on time on the other days. I was quite sceptical about Kaapelitehdas as a con area at first, but it worked surprisingly well. The clearing right next to the building provided plenty of space to hang around in and the halls were almost never too crowded.

After arriving almost an hour later than expected, we met up with ~Minna-chan, ~juustozzi and ~Mupe-chan, who were cosplaying Yuan, a renegade soldier and Zelos from Tales of Symphonia. I had decided to wear Colette and dragged my lil bro along as Lloyd, so we had a nice lil' group. I also spotted a Sheena and another Colette during the day, but we never had the chance to take a big group photo. ;o; We did all kinds of silly things and took dumb (and not so dumb) photos while posing for lots of pictures. Tales of- was surprisingly popular this year, I was pleasantly surprised (ffff I saw three Jades and ToA hasn't even been released over here O__o) I loved hanging around with you guys, thank you!

Saturday was the big day for me, I had applied for the cosplay contest as Serenade from Eternal Sonata and I was really nervous. D8
After arriving at the con in the morning and getting the official photos taken I had to just sit around for over two hours. Luckily some of my friends had signed up for the comp too so I had people to talk to, and my lovely "cosplay-mamma" ~kokonhoray kindly helped me with whatever I could have wanted. 8D The contest itself was alright, walking along a catwalk was a nice idea. Didn't win anything, and to be honest I was very disappointed as I'm a very competitive person and had put a lot of work into Serenade. One of the judges hunted me down on Sunday though and told me she would've really liked to award me and that cheered me up a lot~

After the contest I spotted ~TheCaringPoisoner, ~semla-chan and ~TheFieryNuisance who were sporting their awesome Tales of the Abyss-cosplays. I hung out with them for a while (you guys were AWESOME, I wish I would have had more chances to bother you XD) and after getting something to eat met up with our small Eternal Sonata group, who I spent the rest of the day with.

I also visited the afterparty with my bro on Saturday. It was my first time checking out anything like that, and we had a rather awesome time. xD The shows were pretty nice and we danced to all kinds of awesome things like the Super Mario song. \o/

Sunday was a The Legend of Zelda-day for me. I had done some improvements on Zelda since last time and felt much more confident in the costume this time around.

I wanted to check out the group cosplay contest, but the hall was pretty much full when I arrived so after trying to watch the first performance I gave up. I ran into ~Viveeh and her friend Feaila who were cosplaying Zant and imp Midna from TLoZ:TP and spent most of the day hanging around with them. . I had a great time with them just posing for loads of pics and talking about stuff. I was so happy to be with a TLoZ group, those games and characters are something so special. <3 I hope you guys didn't mind me being practically glued to you all day! xD;

Overall, the con was full of awesome this year. I had so much fun with friends and Serenade and Zelda attracted lots of little girls to hug and pose with me, I thought I was going to burst from the cuteness and all the compliments I got. ;o; The only strange thing is that I bought absolutely nothing at the con this year... except for a sandwich and two bottles of water, lol.

A thousand thanks to ,,,,,,, and everybody else I chatted with during the weekend! And, of course, to my lovely little brother who kindly carried my bag and ran various errands for me during the weekend. XD

Next event: Cosplay-gaala on the 9th of August. (A break? What's that? 8DD) Any of you Finns going?
